Honestly, this was my first attendance to the annual Blvcktoberfest! I've seen advertisements in the past and thought it would be like every other party in Boston. You know, the ones where you see the same people and have the same experience.
Well, I'm happy to say Blvcktoberfest was NOT that kind of party! One foot in the door and I knew I was not in for just another party, but an Experience. An experience at the Artists for Humanity gallery.

The music was lively and the cameras were flashing. Hugs and greetings flowed from left to right by beautiful people adorned in black gowns and suits. Complimentary beverages were offered and small bites were carried out by waited staff throughout the venue.
While I recognized a few familiar faces, I also recognized the craft and excellence that went into this celebration called Blvcktoberfest. Next year, you should too!

About Blvcktoberfest
Blvcktoberfest bills itself as Boston’s biggest culture fest, a celebration of Black culture, creativity and community. Founder Fena Fenelon started it in 2017 in the backyard of her home, with just under 100 guests. It has since grown into one of the city’s most anticipated cultural events, drawing crowds in the thousands, and is produced by The Sofenomenal Agency Group.
The 10th installment, The Onyx Ball, took place on Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 5PM to 10PM at Artists for Humanity, 100 W 2nd St in South Boston. The theme was inspired by the onyx stone: strength, protection, grounding, elegance and transformation. For the first time in its history, the event had a dress code, “Elevated Black”: all-black suits and dresses. The event was 21+.
