Ortiz knocked Castillo (22-6) down with a body punch in the second round, then knocked him down again and the referee stopped the fight.
“The second one was over the top,” Ortiz said. “That’s what I was planning because I knew he just flicks his jab here and there. I watched like 30 seconds of a clip and Rocky (Gonzalez, his trainer) showed me another clip he found. So I was just waiting for that.”
It was Ortiz’s first pro fight in his hometown.
